hello. this week i have just been working on my flowerpots. originally it was going to be a teapot but i didnt like the spout and so unattached it and sealed it back up to be a normal pot/cookie jar. my decision is to make two other ones just the same except for the flower on the lid is going to different. one is going to be a daisy, one is going to be a lily, and one id going to be a rose. then im going to wood fire them this spring. im very excited about it!
lately i have been noticing however, that theres a trend in my artistic style. not the appearance, bvut the way i make my art. i hardly ever use sketches. i always just go for it with a litttle idea in my head and then it always transforms into a whole other idea that sometimes had absolutely nothing to do with my original plan! This projecvt imworking on now is a hgood example of that. it also made me realize that that is what makes me a good artist----not because i have good skills (im not that great at throwing) but because i can make a mistake and totally build off of that. which i have done millions of times and it often brings me great inspiorations and ewnds up being one of my best poieces ever!
sorry my typing is awful righyt now but i had to do this in a hurry. love you all!
I think your flower jar was really amazing, and I completely understand the whole random, making mistakes process and ending up with something cool...it keeps things interesting and helps bring things out of your head you never even knew were there...keep on making sweet pots.
